The online NORP-SORP workshop on polar fresh water: Sources, Pathways and ImpaCts of frEsh water in northern and soUthern Polar oceans and seas (SPICE UP) concluded successfully on 21 September 2022. 

The third meeting of the CLIVAR/CliC/SCAR Southern Ocean Region Panel (SORP) in 2022 was organized on 1st March. 

The second meeting in 2022 of the CLIVAR/CliC/SCAR Southern Ocean Region Panel (SORP) was organized on 2nd February.

With some of the activities being proceeded in parallel, SORP is now in several task forces and the telecon is mainly to communicate the progress of these task forces. The main outcome during the telecon is as follows:

The January telecon in 2022 of the CLIVAR/CliC/SCAR Southern Ocean Region Panel (SORP) was organized on 11^th January. The proposed CLIVAR Exchange issue, the update of the tasks of SORP and the status of the field work were discussed. 

The December telecon of the CLIVAR/CliC/SCAR Southern Ocean Region Panel was organized on December 2nd, focusing on the review of the progress in task teams and next steps, the membership discussion and the annual report.

Torge reported the progress of the Southern Ocean heat and freshwater task team, which is designing a protocol for the freshwater-release experiments with numerical models of the Southern and global.
