The March CLIVAR/CliC/SCAR SORP telecon was organized
The third meeting of the CLIVAR/CliC/SCAR Southern Ocean Region Panel (SORP) in 2022 was organized on 1st March. Main outcomes are as follows:
SORP was preparing the presentation of the CLIVAR SSG-27 and the annual report for CliC. Co-chair of SORP, Torge will represent SORP to attend the SSG meeting, and will feedback to SORP during the next SORP telecon.
Elisabeth summarized the OSM 2022 town hall: Defining the Future of the Southern Ocean – A Contribution to the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science. She mentioned that the Southern Ocean UN Decade action plan is now committed by various panels. Participants from all over the world attended this town hall and showed their interests to the SO UN Decade. Elisabeth also joined the other sessions at the OSM and advertised the SO UN Decade to the communities, she was glad that people are now attaching more importance to the Southern Ocean.
Other panel tasks, the proposed CLIVAR Exchanges issue on highlighting Ocean Research, Data and Networks of Antarctic Programs was discussed.
