CLIVAR CMIP7 Hackathon
The CLIVAR CEMT-MV Research Focus (RF) is pleased to announce the CMIP7 Hackathon 2027, which will bring together researchers to collaboratively investigate the representation of historical climate variability and trends in the CMIP7 model ensemble.
The hackathon will provide an opportunity for participants to work together on model evaluation, data analysis, and the development of scientific manuscripts based on CMIP7 simulations. Particular emphasis will be placed on assessing historical climate trends and variability and advancing collaborative research that can contribute to upcoming climate assessments, including the IPCC Seventh Assessment Report (AR7).
The hackathon is scheduled for 6–8 January 2027 at three locations: the NCAR campus in Boulder, National Taiwan University in Taipei and University of Tokyo in Tokyo, immediately following the AMS Annual Meeting in Denver. The timing is intended to facilitate participation by researchers already attending the AMS meeting and reduce additional travel requirements.
Further information on the scientific focus, participation, and logistics will be provided on this webpage.
