The ICRC-CORDEX conference brought together the international community involved in regional climate research and its applications, with particular emphasis on CORDEX and related WCRP regional climate activities. It has provided a platform for the capacity building, knowledge exchanges, and international cooperation.
As one of the four core projects of WCRP, CLIVAR was invited to give a speech at the ‘WCRP CORE PROJECTS and CORA’ part in ‘Plenary Session 1: CORDEX : achievements, status and focus of future work’. Prof. Marsland made the presentation, he highlighted the current and future mission and scientific priority of CLIVAR. With the new strategic plan of CLIVAR, the science plan and overarching goal for the upcoming 10 years was determined. Current and next year’s activities of CLIVAR groups (panels and research foci), especially the OMDP, were also introduced in the presentation.
