Prof. Detlef STAMMER will rotate off from the CLIVAR SSG Co-chair and join the Joint Scientific Committee (JSC) of WCRP in 2019
Professor Detlef Stammer will end his term of CLIVAR SSG Co-chair on December 31, 2018 after serving CLIVAR in the past 5 years; with the co-leadership of Prof. Stammer, CLIVAR successfully hosted the Open Science Conference 2016, the Sea Level Conference 2017, the CLIVAR-FIO Joint Summer School and the ENSO Conference 2018. The New CLIVAR Science and implementation strategy was published, which will guide the development of CLIVAR in the coming decade.
Prof. Stammer will continue to contribute his expertise and leadership on Ocean and Climate research as a member of WCRP Joint Scientific Committee (JSC) in 2019 and as Co-chair of The WCRP Grand Challenge (GC) on Regional Sea Level Change and Coastal Impacts.
Detlef is currently a Professor, head of Remote Sensing and Assimilation and Director of the Center for Earth System Research and Sustainability at the University of Hamburg, Germany. Detlef's research interests include the role of the ocean in climate variability and sea level change.
