CLIVAR/CliC/SCAR Southern Ocean Region Panel organized the third telecon in 2021
The third regular telecon in 2021 of CLIVAR/CliC/SCAR Southern Ocean Region Panel (SORP) was held at 6th May. Since the members of SORP are widely spread in different continents, the regular meeting has been set to alternate between two different time to accommodate every member’s time zone.
During the meeting, the progresses of the on planning workshops, the ‘NORP/SORP joint workshop’ and the ‘Fluxes in the sea-ice zone’ were discussed.
With Elisabeth Sikes being in the Southern Ocean Task Force, SORP has been deeply involved in the Southern Ocean UN Decade, and SORP will continue to contribute this big event.
Following the action of last telecon, SORP has set up a Twitter account, and this will be opened once there are enough contents in that. The newest scientific/observational information in the Southern Ocean and the national reports of Southern Ocean will be shared through this account.
